The cooler temps mean that it's time for me to break out one of my favorite cool-weather treats. The local coffeehouse calls it a Honey Breeze. I call it comfort. I started making my own version at home several years ago. There's no recipe...just tinker with it 'til you find the right combination for your taste.
Ideally, steamed milk would be my top choice, but since I don't have access to a steamer, the microwave is a pretty good substitute. I gently, slowly heat a mug of milk, then add a heavy dose of honey. Add a sprinkling of cinnamon (or nutmeg or the like) on top. And there you have it. As warm and comfortable as a cozy sweater on a brisk fall day. It just makes me feel good.
But you have to do what I can't help but do whenever I make one. You must belt out, loudly, with gusto: "Honey Breeze, makes me feel fine!"
