She [that's me] does him [that's my Jonny] good,
and not harm, all the days of her life.
Proverbs 31:12
That's God's challenge to me as this new week dawns.
There's so much room for improvement;
so many times I utterly fail and drop the ball.
But when God ordained marriage in the book of Genesis,
He said it wasn't good for man to be alone.
He was going to create a helper for him.
And in His infinite love, sovereignty, and grace, He made me for Jon.
And He made you as the helper and completer of your husband.
How are we doing with our assignment?
How are we doing at encouraging our men and showing them grace?
Are we doing them good, not harm, all the days of their lives?
I'm sobered. convicted. challenged.
And I'm hopeful. inspired. ready.
Doing my husband good is a glad privilege that no one else on the face of the earth has.
And no one but you has been commissioned with the high honor of doing your husband good.
It's God's amazing plan.
Let's fervently pray that we be found faithful in fulfilling that plan.
