Memories...I'd Like You to Meet Modern Technology

For Christmas last year, we bought my dad one of those slide scanner thingees. You know...one of those thing-a-ma-bobbies that enable you to scan old picture slides right to your computer and view them with ease anytime you want.

I should be upfront and honest, though. Although we bought it for my dad, it was kinda for me, too. I've always been the one that---every few years---sweetly begs my dad to pull out the old slide projector and screen. And he most often complies. Afterall, I may be grown, but the fact remains that I still sorta have him wrapped around my little finger. Still, that whole outdated system was kind of a pain in the wazoo. The slide projector would move in and out of focus...and get jammed...and was, well...somewhat annoying.

With my parents' 40th wedding anniversary party on the horizon, it was finally time to get my dad's new-fangled system into play. My dad has been spending hour upon hour scanning reel upon reel of our family memories. And when he comes across some good ones, he emails them to me. And they make me smile. Big.
