Autumn Bliss Reflections

We've come to the end of my little autumn bliss series.
And I sit here, pondering what to share for my final "autumn bliss" post.
Part of me thinks it should go out with a bang.
Part of me thinks it should simply go out quietly and unassuming.
And then I reflect on the past 30 entries of autumn bliss and
recognize that while some happenings in recent days were really quite extraordinary,
most were simple and quiet and, for all practical purposes, ordinary.
Yet somehow the sights and sounds and smells and feels of these
past 30 "blissful" entries have helped bring identity and security to my family.
Even when life is changing. Even as they're learning to spread their wings.
They know where they come from. Where they belong.

I look back on all the ordinary moments which turned into memories.
And at the root of them all, it's our faith in Jesus that unites us.
It's Him who keeps us bound together in love,
even through changing times and seasons.

This fall I'm grateful for my family;
a family that's growing and stretching and maturing.
Bliss.
I'm grateful for a God who does not change;
a God who is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Through all the changing seasons,
Great is His faithfulness.
